Why is your hair dry ? Tips and solutions
1. Lack of natural moisture : The scalp produces sebum, a natural oil that protects and moisturises the hair. When sebum production is insufficient or hair is too thick or curly, the oil is not distributed evenly throughout the hair, leaving the ends dry.
2. Environmental factors : Exposure to the sun, wind, dry air or extreme temperatures can dry out hair. Unprotected hair exposed to harsh weather conditions is more vulnerable to dehydration.
3. Excessive use of heat : Heating tools such as hair dryers, straighteners or curling irons can damage the hair cuticle and dry it out. Frequent use of heat destroys hair's natural moisture.
4. Unsuitable hair products : Shampoos containing sulphates and products that are too harsh on the scalp can strip hair of its natural oils, leaving it dry and brittle.
5. Chemical treatments : Colouring, straightening or perming can weaken and damage the hair's internal structure, making it more prone to dryness.
6. Insufficient nutrition and hydration : A diet lacking in essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and omega-3 fatty acids can affect hair health. In addition, insufficient hydration within the body (not drinking enough water) is reflected in the hair.
Dry hair is a common problem that can affect all hair types, whether straight, curly or frizzy. Dry hair often manifests itself as rough texture, lack of shine and brittle hair. Here are the main reasons behind this phenomenon :

Here are all my solutions, and top tips for looking your best all year round”

1. Use a gentle, moisturising shampoo : Opt for a sulphate-free shampoo that won't damage the cuticle. Choose moisturising shampoos with natural ingredients such as argan oil, aloe vera or shea butter.
2. Space out your shampoos : Washing your hair too frequently can strip your scalp of its natural oils. We recommend washing your hair once or twice a week to allow your scalp to regenerate its sebum.
3) Take regular oil baths : Applying oil baths before shampooing is a great way to nourish and protect hair. Oils such as coconut oil, olive oil or castor oil are ideal for sealing in moisture.
4) Deep moisturise with masks : Moisturising hair masks rich in proteins and nourishing agents should be applied regularly (at least once a week). You can opt for homemade masks made with avocado, yoghurt or honey.
5) Avoid excessive heat : Minimise the use of heating tools or apply a heat protector before each use. Let your hair air-dry as much as possible.
6. Trim your ends regularly : Damaged or split ends contribute to dry-looking hair. Regular trimming helps keep them healthy.
7. Eat a balanced diet : Eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids (such as oily fish or flaxseed), vitamins (especially vitamins A, C, D and E) and minerals (iron, zinc) to promote good hair health.

1. Avocado and honey mask : Avocado is rich in nourishing fatty acids, while honey attracts moisture. Mix a ripe avocado with a spoonful of honey and apply to your hair for 30 minutes before rinsing.
2. Coconut oil bath : Coconut oil penetrates deep into the hair fibre. Warm up the oil, apply it to your hair and leave it on under a shower cap for an hour before rinsing.
3. Homemade moisturizing spray : Mix water with a little aloe vera gel and a few drops of lavender essential oil for a moisturising spray to be applied daily..
